OTHER WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

Hand-in-hand with a world class educational infrastructure, Buffalo Niagara provides other workforce development initiatives to support the talent needs of the region's growing life sciences industry. The CoE works closely with its community partners to support such crucial workforce development initiatives as:

Human Resources Services Network is a consortium of industry groups and professional service providers focused on helping life sciences and IT organizations in Buffalo Niagara succeed through optimal human resources. Life sciences candidates receive free resume posting services, and life sciences companies can receive free assessment of their human resources needs.

The Workforce Development Council (WDC) involves regional business representatives in its mission to develop available, talented employees with core skill sets for Buffalo Niagara businesses and to deliver cost effective training systems to those businesses. The WDC includes a life sciences focus (e.g., including needs assessment for employee training) as one of the top growth industry targets for the region.

The Buffalo Employment and Training Center brings together a variety of workforce development organizations and partner agencies with a primary goal of assisting residents of Buffalo and Erie County to gain employment and assist employers in finding qualified workers.
